SOS function added to EzCab app

KUALA LUMPUR, 7 July 2017:

EzCab has introduced the first e-hailing application in Malaysia to offer the SOS button feature for the safety of all taxi users.

Executive director Nor Aleeshah Abdullah said EzCab had developed loyal users who demand reliability and security, backed by a customer service centre operating 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

“Of late, there had been many incidents with criminal elements involving e-hailing app drivers and passengers.  We applaud SPAD (Land Public Transport Commission) for coming up with the regulation and we are very happy to be the first to comply.”

At present, Nor Aleeshah said they were about 2,000 taxi drivers registered under EzCab in Klang Valley, Seremban, Johor Bahru and Sabah.

She said the SOS button would appear on the right-hand side of the ‘On Board’ screen when a passenger stepped into the taxi and began their journey.

“In case of emergency, the passenger simply needs to tap on the SOS button and will be given three options – to directly call the police (999), directly call an emergency contact or to request a call-back from EzCab’s 24/7 customer support centre.”

The app is available for downloading on the Google Playstore and Apple App Store.
