SOS function added to PLUS mobile app

PETALING JAYA, 16 June 2017:

PLUS Malaysia Bhd has introduced the ‘SOS’ function in the PLUS Mobile App – enabling the public to report emergencies that occur along the highway.

PLUS managing director Datuk Azman Ismail said, through the function, the public can contact PLUS Traffic Control Centre to report accidents or other emergencies more quickly.

“Upon receiving the notification from the user, the traffic control centre will immediately contact the consumer to coordinate the needed emergency assistance.

“The response time for the PLUS personnel to the location is 20 minutes but it depends on the traffic situation.”

Azman said more than one million users have downloaded the application ‘PLUS Mobile Apps’ currently and the public can get the application at Google PlayStore.

“So far, this application is for the Android users and we will expand to the iOS users.”

PLUS also has issued a Travel Time Advisory (TTA) for users of the North-South Expressway, especially on peak days, namely, between July 3 and 21.

“The TTA introduced this year is easier, PLUS hopes the people can comply with the TTA schedule to help smoothen the flow of traffic,” said Azman. Azman said the public were also reminded to ensure their PLUSMiles or Touch ‘n Go have sufficient balance as all the 134 reload lanes at the toll highway will be closed from June 22 to July 2.

“The reload lanes will be closed to facilitate the flow of traffic on the Hari Raya holidays.”
