Malaysia Covid19 daily new case reports during the latest 24 hours under review rose to 279 persons recording positive tests – with six imported cases – to raise the nation’s tally to 5,044,718 infections.

Selangor (97) reported the most new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (64), Johor (17), Melaka (17), Perak (14), Putrajaya (11) and Terengganu (11) . Single digits were recorded in Negeri Sembilan (9), Penang (9), Sarawak (9), Kedah (7), Pahang (6), Kelantan (3), Labuan (3), Sabah (2) and Perlis reported none.
The 236 discharges were outpaced by new cases as total recoveries rose to 4,998,455 (99%) while active cases rose 43 to 9,296 – with 8,964 (96.4%) in home quarantine, 327 (3.5%) hospitalised and none at Low-Risk Covid19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres (PKRC).
Numbers at intensive care units dipped to five Covid19 patients, with one needing the breathing aid.
