PUTRAJAYA, 7 March 2023:
Malaysia Covid19 daily new case reports during the latest 24 hours under review stood at 188 persons recording positive tests – with three imported cases – to raise the nation’s tally to 5,043,978 infections.
Worryingly, most of the new infections are among those who had already received boosted vaccinations (130) or fully vaccinated (34) while unvaccinated persons numbered 24.
Selangor (76) reported the most new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (44), Johor (13), Terengganu (13) and Kedah (11) . Single digits were recorded in Pahang (6), Putrajaya (6), Melaka (5), Perak (5), Negeri Sembilan (3), Penang (2), Sabah (2), Labuan (1), Sarawak (1); Kelantan and Perlis reported none.
The 181 discharges were just outpaced by new cases as total recoveries rose to 4,997,801 (99%) while active cases rose seven to 9,211 – with 8,884 (96.4%) in home quarantine, 325 (3.5%) hospitalised and none at Low-Risk Covid19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres (PKRC).
Numbers at intensive care units remained at two Covid19 patients, with none needing the breathing aid.
The grim statistic of lives lost to Covid19 paused with the death toll at 36,966, even as the brought-in-dead cases subtotal stood at 7,876 casualties for the fourth consecutive day.
