PUTRAJAYA, 4 March 2023:
Malaysia Covid19 daily new case reports during the latest 24 hours under review stood at 204 persons recording positive tests – with four imported cases – to raise the nation’s tally to 5,043,456 infections.
Worryingly, most of the new infections are among those who had already received boosted vaccinations (148) or fully vaccinated (32) while unvaccinated persons numbered 23 and one partially vaccinated.
Kuala Lumpur (61) reported the most new cases, followed by Selangor (59), Perak (16), Melaka (15) and Johor (12). Single digits were recorded in Sarawak (8), Kedah (7), Penang (7), Negeri Sembilan (5), Pahang (5), Kelantan (3), Putrajaya (3), Sabah (2), Labuan (1); with Perlis and Terengganu recording none.
The 213 discharges outpaced new cases as total recoveries rose to 4,997,244 (99%) while active cases dipped nine to 9,247 – with 8,909 (96.3%) in home quarantine, 332 (3.6%) hospitalised and none at Low-Risk Covid19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres (PKRC).
Numbers at intensive care units stood at six Covid19 patients, with only one needing the breathing aid.
The grim statistic of lives lost to Covid19 paused with the death toll at 36,965, with the brought-in-dead cases subtotal at 7,876 casualties.
