KUALA LUMPUR, 23 April 2021:
A new flyover aims to relieve 25% of traffic coming from Bukit Jalil Highway during peak hours and ease traffic for over 11,000 daily road users.
“This new flyover will not only improve accessibility for the Bukit Jalil community, but also benefit Pavilion Bukit Jalil’s tenants by connecting the mall to a bigger catchment population surrounding Bukit Jalil,” said Pavilion Bukit Jalil retail planner Datuk Joyce Yap in a statement.
Built by Malton Bhd, developer of the 50-acre Bukit Jalil City, Yap said this one-way 300m flyover began construction in 2018 and was completed six months ahead of schedule.
Alongside the new flyover, the Bukit Jalil City development also includes the 100ft road, widening of roads to six lanes, new U-turns, an underpass and tunnel access to the upcoming mall’s basement carpark.
This will better server the catchment population of 1.9 million in and around Bukit Jalil – who will enjoy better foot-traffic accessibility with four upcoming pedestrian link bridges expected to be completed in June 2021.
Yap said these link bridges will directly improve pedestrian accessibility between the mall, the 80-acre Bukit Jalil Recreational Park, as well as the business centre across the Bukit Jalil Highway.
Set to open by year-end is the Pavilion Bukit Jalil mall – with nett lettable area of 1.8 million sq ft over five retail floors plus a 28,000 sq ft piazza as an outdoor venue covered with a 35m-high canopy for outdoor entertainment, concerts, and events, complemented by a 4,500 sq ft centre court and a 47,000 sq ft exhibition centre.
Another highlight at the mall will be the Blue Ice Snow Park featuring aurora lights that simulate Northern Lights for a unique night skating experience.
