KOTA BHARU, 30 Aug 2017:
The Kelantan Road Transport Department (RTD) have detained a motorcyclist, in his 20s, for riding a motorcycle with the fake registration plate number DDD 111.
Kelantan RTD director Mahasan Mustapa said this was because the decision for the tender on the special number had not been released.
“The man was detained in Jalan Kebun Sultan here at 3.20pm on Monday.”
Upon his arrest, Mahasan said the man claimed he had submitted a tender for the number plate a month ago, using another person’s name.
“Further investigation found that the man did not possess a driving licence, and the motorcycle had another plate number, no road tax sticker and no insurance coverage.”
He added that the case is being investigated under the Road Transport Act 1987.
