KUALA LUMPUR, 19 March 2023:
The much anticipated Tim Burton’s Masterclass to be conducted by this film auteur at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, together with the book signing plus meet-and-greet sessions, have has been cancelled – due to him testing positive and currently undergoing necessary quarantine in accordance with the Covid19 health guidelines.
Even so, the the pop-up museum and exhibition will be be open to the public – as scheduled – from Tuesday March 21 to July 30 July.
Visitors can look forward to being impressed with over 500 drawings, paintings, photographs, sketchbooks, moving-image works, and sculptural installations focusing on the recurrent visual themes and motifs that resonate in the distinctive characters and worlds found in Burton’s art and films.
Among the displays are those from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride, the recent hit TV series Wednesday, and many other unreleased characters and drawings.
What was affected by the Covid19 infection is the rescheduling of Tim Burton’s Masterclass – which will be hosted virtually instead on Friday April 14. Further details will be announced in due course and Tim Burton extends his sincere apology for this change.
Those who have purchased a VIP ticket will get a complimentary ticket to the virtual masterclass together with an 10-minute meet-and-greet session with Tim Burton himself exclusively for VIP ticket holders only prior to the masterclass as well as the special merchandise item.
VIP ticket holders will be able to collect their ‘The Art of Tim Burton’ book and merchandise at the pop-up museum and exhibition venue from Tuesday March 21 onwards.
Further, Tim Burton will be sending personalised autographs to us for all the VIP ticket holders which can be collected on a later date at the pop-up museum.
