Prelude grocer anchors Pavilion Damansara Heights

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 Oct 2023:

The capital city’s latest shopping mall was officially opened at noon today as Pavilion Damansara Heights was swamped with patrons, together with its anchor supermarket tenant The Food Merchant Prelude.

The latter’s managing director Ivan Tan said the “Prelude sets the stage for an upcoming Phase 2, targeted to open in the later part of 2024, which promises even more expansive and exciting experiences.

“As a gourmet grocer, we not only bring diversity and quality grocery offerings to our customers. We also bring distinguished dine-in experience featuring authentic international cuisine, seamlessly bringing together flavours from East Asian oceans to European vineyards.”

The latest outlet is the sixth since the Food Merchant branding was launched at Pavilion Bukit Jalil in December 2021 – wherein its partnership with Foodpanda offers the convenience of pre-ordering, choosing delivery times, and personalised recommendations from over 3,000 items at all six locations.

The supermarket is among the highlights of the mall’s first phase featuring specialty stores, diverse dining experiences and lifestyle services with around 100 outlets welcoming patrons.

Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn Bhd retail chief executive officer Datuk Joyce Yap said: “With surrounding affluent neighbourhoods like Bangsar and Damansara Heights, as well as a growing community of nearby residents and office workers eager for access to basic needs, convenient lifestyle services and dining options, we anticipate a strong launch.”

She noted that Pavilion Damansara Heights has completed and handed over eight of its nine corporate towers and three residential towers, increasing the immediate on-site population by approximately 26,000 people.

With about 80% of the mall’s lettable space committed in phase one, full completion will see the facilities span across six floors to be a customer-centric destination for dining experience, retail, entertainment and leisure, she added.

Today’s opening unveiled a magnificent illuminance at the mall’s grand entrance, crafted with 2,888 Murano-glass technology crystals by award winning lighting design and glass manufacturing company, Lightsculptures.

Dubbed as the ‘Pavilion Crown’, the façade was crafted with recyclable glass, which symbolized Pavilion Damansara Heights’ commitment towards crafting a green development, marked by the recent award of Green Mark certification by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Singapore.
