PUTRAJAYA, 29 March 2019:
Tu-E Capital is not a housing developer nor is it licensed under the Housing Development Act (Control and Licensing) 1966 (Act 118), said the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT).
In a statement today, KPKT said a review done together with the National Housing Department (JPN) also found the person reported to be the company director, Datuk Mohamad Zahari Awang, did not hold such a post with any of the licensed developers under JPN and KPKT.
The ministry, which advised the public to immediately report to the police if they received any fraudulent notice or letter, issued the statement following a posting on the Facebook page of PW Community entitled “Report on GIDIFA/Tu-E Capital Housing Project Scam”.
The posting claimed the scam involved the collection of fees of between RM10,000 and RM20,000 from contractors keen on joining the affordable housing project as panel contractors.
The posting also stated Tu-E Capital had been using the fraudulent approach to offer free housing through a GIDIFA-sponsored programme, which allegedly came under the purview of the United Nations (UN).
KPKT said anyone with doubts or enquiries could e-mail [email protected] or [email protected]; call 03-8000 8000; via KPKT Facebook @KPKT Malaysia or JPN Facebook; or via KPKT Twitter @kpkt_gov or JPN Twitter @perumahanJPN.
“The public, housing developers and contractors can also check the authenticity of any incentive, scheme or programme introduced by the JPN and KPKT by visiting the JPN’s official portal http://ehome.kpkt.gov.my.”
