The most expensive condominium unit sold last year is located at Jalan Medang Serai in Bangsar, according to a Top 10 listing compiled by iPropertyIQ.com – based on sales data captured from the Valuation and Property Services Department till Sept 2017.
The RM12.1 million unit at Serai, Bukit Bandaraya – a 21-storey condominium housing 121 units – had a median per sq ft price of RM815.
This pricing was higher than the second most priciest condominium unit at The Binjai On The Park in KLCC was sold at RM9.9 million – with a media sq ft price of RM675. This development is a high-end condo featuring two towers 45-storey and 44-storey high with 171 units in total – offering an expansive view of the city centre and unobstructed views of KLCC Park.
But both these condominium units only came in 4th and 8th in the iPropertyIQ Top 10 listing – all the other pricey residences sold were landed properties.
“A bungalow, on Jalan Utama, an upper-middle class suburb in Pulau Tikus, Penang transacted at a cost of RM14.5 million is the most expensive property in Malaysia,” said the firm in a statement today. “The median per sq ft price for bungalows in Pulau Tikus is RM570.”
Penang also featured two other bungalows in the Top 10 list – both at Tanjung Tokong, with a median sq ft price of RM854. Coming in second on this list was a bungalow (RM13.6 million) at Jalan Bunga Hinai while the Casa Permai bungalow (RM9 million) was ranked 10th.
Bangsar also featured two landed properties in this list – ranked 6th was a RM12 million home at The Enclave (RM588 per sq ft median price) and 7th was a RM10 million town house at One Menerung (RM759 per sq ft median price).
About the only surprise, ranked 9th, was a RM9.8 million bungalow at Masera Bukit Segar in Cheras – where the median per sq ft price is RM221.
Rounding off the list were:
- RM12.6 million Bukit Tunku (Kenny Hill) bungalow was 3rd, median per sq ft price RM422;
- RM12 million Damansara Heights bungalow was 5th, median per sq ft price RM652.
