Young Malaysian bags 3 golds at Dubai ice-skating tournament

KUALA LUMPUR, 16 Feb 2019:

Malaysia’s young ice skater C. Sree Abiraame bagged three gold medals at the Middle East 4th official ISI International Figure Skating tournament held at the Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The seven-year-old triumphed in the girl’s 7-8 years category Freestyle final after accumulating 5.0 points yesterday evening, while the host’s competitor Norin Angela claimed silver with 4.0 points at the tournament dubbed Skate Abu Dhabi 2019.

Later, the pint-sized skater continued her impressive skating to claim the gold in the Solo Camp Freestyle event after scoring another 5.0 points, where Norin (4.0) and compatriot Mizuguchi Hanabi (3.0) claimed silver and bronze respectively.

Sree claimed her first gold of the tournament through the girl’s 7-8 years Speed Skating event on Thursday.

The Kingsley International School student will next compete in the Artistic Freestyle and Footwork 1 events on the last day of the tournament today.

“I hope all Malaysians will pray that Sree succeeds in the subsequent two events,” father B. Chendren said.
