KANGAR, 13 Feb 2018:
The Perlis state government is aiming to receive 15,000 entries for the 2018 Perlis Marathon to be held here on May 5, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man.
He said the categories of the run were 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km ‘Fun Run’ and these are expected to attract local and foreign participants.
“Last year, there were 12,500 entries in race which surpassed the target of 10,000 participants,” he said at the pre-launch of the 2018 Perlis Marathon here yesterday.
He said the state government is also proud the Perlis Marathon was ranked second, after the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon.
He said the prize offered this time included RM250,000 cash, a car and a motorcycle.
So far, Azlan said the number of participants has reached 8,000 and the public can visit www.racexasia.com for more information.
