Paralympians score for Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 March 2018: 

Elite paralympic athlete Siti Noor Radiah Ismail bagged the gold medal in the long jump event for T20 (intellectual disability) at the 10th Fazza International Athletics Championships-World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Dubai, United Arab Emirates yesterday.

According to the National Sports Institute media relations unit, Siti Noor Radiah heaved 5.04m in her third throw at the championships.

The Rio Paralympics bronze medallist beat Holly Durbidge of Great Britain – who claimed the silver with 4.89m and Sonomi Sakai of Japan who took the bronze with 4.72m.

World champion Muhamad Ziyad Zolkefli has bagged the gold medal in the shot put T20 (learning disability) at the same event.

Muhamad Ziyad was far ahead of his challengers when he heaved 16.42m in his fifth throw at the championships.

The 2017 national paralympic sportsman beat Dimitrios Senikidis of Greece who recorded 15.27m for the silver medal followed by Vladimir Butucea of Moldova who clinched the bronze with 10.78m.
