Malaysia 2nd in Asian youth bowling tourney

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 Oct 2017:

The national women’s bowling squad, via Nur Amirah Auni Azman, yesterday collected a silver medal in the Women’s Masters event on the final day of the 19th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships in Manila, Philippines.

Nur Amirah who had previously delivered silver medals in the women’s individual and team events, lost 381-446 (163-212, 218-234) to Lee Jung Min from South Korea at the stepladder final match, according to the Asian Bowling Federation website www.abf-online.org.

Meanwhile, Faten Najihah Ahmad Faik had to settle for bronze after she lost in the first round of the stepladder to Jung Min (211-258).

For the record, the national bowling squad won a gold medal through Tun Ameerul Luqman Al-Hakim after winning the boys singles in the first day of the championship on Oct 23.

Malaysia finished in second place of the championship with a gold, three silvers and a bronze, while South Korea emerged winner with seven golds, a silver and two bronzes
