KUALA LUMPUR, 24 Feb 2018:
Rally Cycling Pro Continental team, which will make its debut in the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2018 from March 18 to 25, is ready to give a fierce challenge to other teams in the category.
After 11 seasons, the North America-based team have expressed their willingness to send out six experienced riders – including the juniors – to race in the 23rd edition of the tour.
“Rally Cycling wants to make use of the skills of its team director Eric Wohlberg, from Canada, who has competed in the Olympics three times. He has also won gold in the 1998 Commonwealth Games and the eighth stage in the LTdL 1999,” LTdL 2018 organiser Ciclista Sports Sdn Bhd said in a statement yesterday.
The organiser said a 39-year-old Rally Cycling rider Charles Bradley Huff, who emerged as the United States Pro Criterium champion twice, is expected to steal the show to vie for the Sprint King title in the 2.HC event.
Eric Young, 28 – who made it to the podium in the Tour of Utah, Tour de Korea and the Tour of the Gila in New Mexico – is expected to partner with Bradley to ride to the podium.
The organiser also said the team would bank on Adam de Vos to shoulder the task to vie for King of the Hill title as the man had a good track record at the Raiffeisen International Grand Prix in Austria and Redland Cycling Classic.
A total of 22 teams have confirmed their participation in the 2018 edition which will cover 1,341 kms, spanning eight states in Peninsular Malaysia.
