Walk-ins allowed for Covid-19 vaccine shots from Monday, Nov 22

PUTRAJAYA, 16 Nov 2021:

All Covid-19 vaccinations – from first dose to booster shots – can be handle via walk-in registrations at designated vaccination centres nationwide from Nov 22.

This decision by the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force – Booster (CITF-B) chaired by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin covers all eligible individuals – including foreigners resident in Malaysia – aged 12 and older.

In a statement today, CITF-B said the walk-in registration is also available for individuals booster jabs to receive the shots earlier than their appointment dates.

Priority will be given to frontliners, security and defence personnel, individuals aged 40 and older, individuals aged 18 and above with comorbidities, occupants and personnel at long term health care centres, pregnant mothers and those required to go overseas.

The walk-in registrations can also be made via telephone and email, with the contact list for registrations at www. protecthealth.com.my.

CITF-B expressed the belief this approach will facilitate and encourage eligible individuals to receive the booster shot voluntarily without long waits.

Those who have already registered may be contacted by the private medical practitioner involved if there are cancellations or no show by others for their appointments – to better help ensure the vaccine is not wasted and be used optimally.
