SHAH ALAM, 17 May 2019:
Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari, announced news of the special payment today during a speech delivered at a Ramadan event with civil servants.
A total of 19,244 Selangor civil servants will receive a bonus of one month’s salary, while the 739 Federal staffers serving in the state will receive RM1,000 each.
“The special financial aid called Insentif Mahabbah Selangor, with an allocation of RM33.84 million, will be paid out on June 7.”
A one-month bonus will also be given to 1,521 government-linked company (GLC) staff and those working in strategic planning organisations like Universiti Selangor (Unisel), Yayasan Hijrah Selangor, Tourism Selangor, Invest Selangor and Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor, with the amount totalling RM5.621 million.
The state government will be also distributing RM4.17 million worth of Insentif Mahabbah Ramadan to those running the 2,053 surau and 390 mosques in the state.
“Mosque workers are made up of the nazir, a couple of imam, bilal and siak who will receive RM400 each. Surau staff will receive RM300 each.”
Amirudin said the state government has also decided that Selangor civil servants will receive two months’ bonus at the end of the year.
Separately, the Pahang state government today announced that it would give Aidilfitri bonus of RM600 to all state civil servants from Grade 54 and below.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the bonus was expected to be paid by May 24.
Some 8,000 civil servants are expected to receive the bonus.
The federal government yesterday agreed to give a special aid in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration amounting to RM450 each to almost 1.5 million federal civil servants for Grade 56 and below.
In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, a RM225 aid would also be given to 0.8 million government pensioners in appreciation of their deeds and services.
‘’The reliefs, which will be given in preparation for the 2019 Hari Raya, will be paid on May 24.
‘’The supports to the civil servants and government pensioners involve an estimated financial allocation of RM855 million,’’ said the statement.
Meanwhile, the Kedah government has approved a RM1,000 bonus for all state civil servants for the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri next month.
Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir said the bonus will be paid on May 30. He said 4,711 state civil servants, including 316 contract and temporary officers, will enjoy the bonus.
