PUTRAJAYA, 30 Nov 2022:
Malaysia’s Covid-19 new daily case reports dropped during the latest 24 hours under review as 1,672 people recorded positive tests – with an imported case – to raise the nation’s tally to 4,990,431 infections.
Worryingly, most of the new infections are among those who had already received boosted vaccinations (1,139) or fully vaccinated (352). Unvaccinated persons numbered 174, with seven partially vaccinated.
Selangor (619) reported the highest number of new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (134), Kedah (133) and Sabah (103), while double digits were charted in Melaka (89), Negeri Sembilan (84), Penang (81), Sarawak (80), Kelantan (77), Perak (66), Terengganu (57), Putrajaya (52), Pahang (46) and Johor (39). Only Labuan (9) and Perlis (3) reported in the single digits.
The 2,722 discharges outpaced new cases as total recoveries rose to 4,927,186 (98.7%) while active cases fell 1,060 to 26,578 – with 24,573 (92.5%) in home quarantine, 1,911 (7.2%) hospitalised and none at Low-Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres (PKRC).
Numbers at intensive care units steadied at 94 Covid-19 patients, with 52 needing breathing aids.
The grim statistic of lives lost to Covid-19 added 10 fatalities to raise the death toll to 36,667 – with another two brought-in-dead cases raising this subtotal to 7,802 casualties. The deaths involved seven boosted persons, one fully vaccinated and two unvaccinated.
