PUTRAJAYA, 13 Nov 2022:
Malaysia’s Covid-19 new daily case reports during the latest 24 hours under review have further dipped to 2,882 persons recording positive tests – with a single imported case – to raise the nation’s tally to 4,946,583 infections.
Worryingly, most of the new infections are among those who had already received boosted vaccinations (1,896) or fully vaccinated (727). Unvaccinated persons numbered 251, with eight partially vaccinated.
Selangor (1,240) reported the highest number of new cases, followed by Sabah (257), Kuala Lumpur (227), Penang (190), Melaka (158), Negeri Sembilan (121), Kedah (109), Perak (107), Sarawak (104) and Pahang (103), while double digits were charted in Putrajaya (95), Kelantan (66), Johor (49), Terengganu (35) and Labuan (17). Single digit new cases were recorded only in Perlis (4).
The 4,730 discharges far outpaced new cases as total recoveries rose to 4,878,828 (98.6%) while active cases fell 1,857 to 31,209 – with 29,345 (94%) in home quarantine, 1,780 (5.7%) hospitalised and none at Low-Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres (PKRC).
Numbers at intensive care units dipped to 84 Covid-19 patients, with 62 needing breathing aids.
The grim statistic of lives lost to Covid-19 added nine fatalities to raise the death toll to 36,546 – with another three brought-in-dead cases raising this subtotal to 7,776 casualties. The deaths involved four boosted persons, one fully vaccinated and four unvaccinated.
