Still leading all states in new cases is Selangor with 1,479, followed by Sabah (486), Kelantan (442), Johor (430), Kedah (428), Kuala Lumpur (400), Penang (369), Pahang (358), Perak (262), Melaka (229), Terengganu (189), Negeri Sembilan (159), Sarawak (144), Putrajaya (69), Perlis (30) and Labuan (27).

There were 13 Malaysians among the 25 imported cases, local transmissions involved 5,278 citizens (96.4%) and 198 foreigners. Of this total, 78 persons (1.4%) had to be hospitalised.

The 6,664 discharges brought total recoveries to 2,516,693 (96.3%) as active cases fell by 506 to 68,755 – with 55,278 (80.4%) in home quarantine, 7,422 (10.8%) at Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres and 5,539 (8.1%) hospitalised.

Numbers remain steady at intensive care units with 445 confirmed Covid-19 patients (plus 74 more suspected) and among those needing breathing aids with 167 confirmed Covid-19 patients (plus another 100 suspected).

The grim statistic of lives lost to Covid-19 added 48 more confirmed fatalities to bring the death toll to 30,195 – inclusive of another 10 brought-in-dead cases to raise this subtotal to 6,106 casualties. There is a backlog of Covid-19 death confirmations due to testing priority for healing the living.

With seven more new clusters identified, the active number had crept up to 236 out of 5,920 identified todate.
