KUALA LUMPUR, 5 Feb 2019:
Malaysian e-hailing service MyCar has lodged a police report on the misconduct by one of its driver – believed to have offered sexual services to a passenger, as had gone viral on social media on Jan 27.
Corporate and communications division officer Nur Atika Mat Nor said a police report was lodged on Jan 28 at the Shah Alam Section 6 police station.
“The police report is to enable police to take appropriate action so that MyCar’s reputation is maintained and to get the victim to lodge a police report for further action.
“MyCar has taken firm action against the driver involved by blacklisting his account.”
She said MyCar had always put emphasis on the safety of its passengers and drivers.
Meanwhile, Shah Alam district police chief ACP Baharudin Mat Taib confirmed receiving the report.
“So far we have only received a report from MyCar and have not heard anything from the victim,” he said adding that no arrest has been made.
