More cops to get English lessons for VM2020

IPOH, 13 Jan 2020:

The Perak police contingent intends to provide English tuition for its officers and personnel working on the field in an effort to provide the best service to tourists in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2020 (VM2020).

After a handing-over-of-duties ceremony here today, Perak police chief Datuk Razarudin Husain said the department would work with strategic partners such as the universities and non-governmental organisations for the purpose.

Yesterday, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said its officers and personnel on duty at the federal capital’s popular locations would be sent to English classes to enable them to provide better service to tourists.

Earlier, during the ceremony, Razarudin witnessed the handing-over of duties of the Perak deputy police chief by Datuk Lim Hong Shuan to Datuk Mazlan Santarai, who is the chief of the state police contingent’s Special Branch.

Lim retired at the age of 60 after serving with the police force for 35 years.

The former principal assistant director (Compliance) of the Standards Compliance Division, Integrity and Standards Compliance Department, Bukit Aman, was appointed as Perak deputy police chief on 26 March 2019.
