Man stabbed by one-legged friend dies

SHAH ALAM, 4 Feb 2018:

A man has died after he’s believed to have been stabbed by a physically handicapped friend in an incident at a house in Pandamaran, Klang, near here yesterday.

South Klang district police chief  ACP Shamsul Amar Ramli said the incident occurred about 6pm when a neighbour, aged 48, saw the victim collapsed in front of the suspect’s house – and then sought the help of passers-by to send the man to a hospital.

However, the victim, aged 55, died on the way to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR), he said – adding that a police report was lodged by a medical officer at the hospital after finding stab wounds on the victim.

Shamsul Amar said preliminary investigations revealed the incident happened after the 51-year-old suspect, who is a one-legged man, lost his cool after being mocked at by the victim for his physical handicap.

“The two men were good friends and the victim often went to the suspect’s house to spend time together, but the action by the victim in making a mockery of the suspect’s physical condition could have prompted him to stab his good friend,” he said in a statement.

He said police had detained the suspect about 8pm and also found a blood-stained knife, believed to have been used to stab the victim.

He said the victim’s body had been sent to the Forensic Unit of HTAR for post mortem.
