BUKIT MERTAJAM, 24 Oct 2017:
Eight female factory workers perished in an accident involving two buses and a factory van at KM147 North-South Expressway near Juru toll plaza here this morning.
Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief ACP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said one of the vehicles was believed to have skidded in the 6am incident in front of Malaysia-Japan Technical Institute.
“Six of the victims were confirmed dead at the scene while two more died on the way to Seberang Jaya Hospital. Their identities are being ascertained.”
He said 32 others were injured and sent to Seberang Jaya Hospital and Sungai Bakap Hospital for treatment.
