KUALA LUMPUR, 25 Feb 2018:
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the second and third phase of the 2018 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) disbursements will be made in June and August respectively.
“I know that many people ask about BR1M. I’m pleased to announce that the first phase of BR1M payment will be made starting Monday, and the next payment will be in June and August.
“Those who want to check their status, can go to ebr1m.hasil.gov.my,” he said in a Twitter post.
The 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) is a programme which has been devised by the government to help those who are really in need, said Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah.
He said the government was always looking into ways to improve on the disbursement of BR1M and to help boost the economic status of its recipients through various training and programmes.
“We hope to assist recipients through entrepreneurial training, providing business loan facilities and so forth as the government does not want them to remain at the same position forever. Changes must be made to ensure a better life for the future.”
“BR1M is given to the poor for them to pay for essential items and the increase in money circulation will indirectly spur domestic economy.”
