Cops among 15 tested drug-positive after karaoke raid

KUALA LUMPUR, 3 Feb 2018:

Two police corporals were among 15 men who tested positive for drugs during a raid at a karaoke centre in the Sekinchan Industrial Park yesterday.

Selangor police chief Datuk Mazlan Mansor said the policemen, aged 32 and 45, tested positive for amphetamine and methampetamine.

He said the raid at 2am by Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standards Compliance Department also saw three men arrested for possessing 16 Ecstasy pills and six Eramin 5 pills.

The department further rescued three Vietnamese and two Thai women believed to be working at the karaoke centre.

Subsequently, three local men – the employer, agent and witness – were detained under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.

Six Myanmar men and three Vietnamese women were also arrested for not having any identification documents.
