KUALA LUMPUR, 17 Nov 2017:
A former manager of a licensed massage parlour was sentenced to 12 months’ jail and fined RM10,000, in default three months’ jail, by the sessions court here today after he pleaded guilty to criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving RM19,437.
Judge Hasbullah Adam, when handing down the sentence on Chow Wen Kiat, 38, also ordered the man to be given two stokes of the cane for the offence.
Chow was ordered to serve the jail sentence from today.
Chow, who was \then company manager entrusted with RM19,437, was charged with committing CBT by dishonestly using the money for his own personal interest at Fifty Five Studio Healthy Centre in Residensi Unggul Kepong, Jalan Vista Mutiara 1, Sentul, here last month – between Oct 26 and 30.
The charge, under Section 408 of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for up to 14 years, and is liable to whipping and fine, if found guilty.
Meanwhile in SHAH ALAM, a designer who had gained fame on social sites for his design of a feminine robe Jubah Pahlawan, was charged in the magistrate’s court again today – also for cheating – and this time, involving RM50,000 and the victim, a hospital nurse, three years ago.
Ahmad Syubaili Aziz, 31, who also runs a nasi lemak business, pleaded not guilty to the charge before magistrate Raja Noor Adilla Raja Mahyaldin.
He was charged with cheating the nurse, aged 28, by offering the business registration of MLM DCHL from RZ Corporation Sdn Bhd – which prompted the woman to hand over her ATM card, to an account containing RM50,000, to him.
The offence was allegedly committed in front of the Sungai Buloh branch Bank Rakyat hear here on 26 Feb 2014.
The charge, under Section 420 of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for up to 10 years and with whipping, and fine, if found guilty.
Raja Noor Adilla allowed Ahmad Syubaili to be released on a bail of RM4,000 in one surety and set Nov 29 for mention.
Last Oct 27, Ahmad Syubaili pleaded not guilty in the Kuala Lumpur magistrate’s court on two counts of cheating two nurses over a nasi lemak business deal involving RM84,000.
