A man in remand – to facilitate investigations into several burglary cases – died while being taken to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) in Klang after complaining of breathing difficulties yesterday.
It is learnt that G. Ganeshwaran, 29, has been remanded until Thursday to facilitate investigations into burglary cases involving a factory and a shop in Bukit Tinggi, Klang.
South Klang District Police chief ACP Shamsul Amar Ramli said in the 10.15am incident, the man – along with another suspect – were taken out from the Shah Alam Centralised Lock Up for statement recording and Biometric Fingerprint Identification System processes.
“Upon arrival at the South Klang Police Headquarters CID office at 11.15am, he complained about having asthma attack, refused to eat and started vomiting.
“An ambulance arrived at 12.15pm and when inspected by the paramedics, the man appeared normal and was able to talk.
“He was taken to HTAR, but at 12.40pm the hospital confirmed that he had died before reaching the hospital.”
Shamsul said in a statement initial investigations found no foul play and that pulmonary thromboembolism was identified as the cause of death.
The case was classified as sudden death.
