KEPALA BATAS, 26 April 2018:
The police arrested a burglar at a double-storey house in Taman Bertam Perdana here yesterday, after the owner detected the break-in via a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera recording from his mobile phone.
Seberang Perai Utara police chief ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the suspect was picked up at 1.15pm following an alert to the 33-year-old house owner.
The suspect was caught while trying to escape through the sliding door on the upper floor of the house. He said the police seized several items – including a green bag, Samsung tablet, Go-Pro camera, a set of screwdrivers, watch, bracelet and two pen drives costing about RM5,000 from the man.
“The suspect had scratches all over the body and sprained his feet in a fall during a bid to escape (from the police),” said Noorzainy, adding that the man tested positive for amphetamine and had four criminal records.
