KUALA LUMPUR, 27 May 2018:
The 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) will be paid to recipients next month before the Aidilfitri celebration, said Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng.
Through his official Twitter site yesterday, he said the financial aid would be given a new name.
He said further information on the aid would be announced next week.
“As directed by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad @chedetofficial, BR1M (to be given another name) will be paid in June before Aidilfitri. More information will be announced next week,” Lim said in the posting.
Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had previously informed that the BR1M payment under the Pakatan Harapan government would be reviewed to ensure that only those who are truly eligible receive it.
