Year-end road trips, the McDonald’s way

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 Dec 2022:

For the next three weeks till New Year’s Eve, McDonald’s Malaysia is offering free treats for those who visit its selected drive-through outlets across the peninsula.

This ‘Jalan-Jalan McD’ campaign across Peninsular Malaysia kicks off at 12.01am on Saturday Dec 10 and as an extra incentive, cash prizes valued at RM100,000 in total are also up for grabs.

To participate, customers must first obtain one of the 50,000 ‘passports’ at the designated McDonald’s drive-through outlets – details are at https://www.mcdonalds.com.my/drive-thru-carnival.

Next, participants have to order a special ‘Jalan-Jalan McD’ bundle for a minimum of RM20 via the ‘Order & Collect’ feature on the McDonald’s app.

Each bundle purchased at any of the 20 designated McDonald’s drive-through outlets will give customers a stamp in the passport.

The first 10 participants to complete the ‘Jalan-Jalan McD Road Trip Challenge’ by uploading all 20 purchase receipts to a designated site will get RM3,000 cash plus RM2,000 worth of McDonald’s vouchers. The fastest entry will get RM15,000 cash plus RM5,000 worth of vouchers.

“No matter where Malaysians travel to this holiday season, they will definitely find a McDonald’s outlet nearby to where they are,” said Melati Abdul Hai, vice president and chief marketing officer at McDonald’s Malaysia.

“Whether you’re in the city, enjoying the sun at our lovely beaches, or visiting quaint little towns across our beautiful country, you’ll know that McDonald’s is with you, wherever you go.”

With the ‘Jalan-Jalan McD Road Trip Challenge’ – a special 2,500km route to visit 20 of McDonald’s most iconic drive-through restaurants across Peninsular Malaysia – she said participants also get another opportunity to win prizes by submitting  videos of their journey.

This campaign kicked off at the very first McDonald’s drive-through restaurant at Titiwangsa in the capital city and among the outlets chosen are the northernmost in Kangar, the highest at Cameron Highlands and also the slimmest in Negeri Sembilan.

To ensure everyone gets to benefit with this campaign, she said participants only need to collect five stamps from any McDonald’s drive-through restaurant in Malaysia to win a voucher – which entitles the customer to redeem a free menu item.
