Roaring sales at Subang residents’ vegetable bazaar

SUBANG JAYA, 9 Dec 2017:

Despite gloomy skies and thunder reigned above Padang SS14 Subang Jaya on a Sunday morning, business was brisk during the special year-end vegetable sale held recently – which offered almost two tonnes of vegetables from Cameron Highlands.

Organised by SS14 Rukun Tetangga – in partnership with Lions Club of Subang Jaya and Lions Club of Hillview Cameron Highlands – the one-day sale delighted the community as residents picked their favourite vegetables at a greatly discounted price; fresh from the highlands.

Cabbages, tomatoes, capsicum, cucumbers and a lot more leafy greens were up for sale as part of the fundraising drive by the three partnering organisations.

All the vegetables supplied for the sale were sponsored by Cameron Highland farmers, who took the effort to bring it down with their lorries just for the event.

Even Subang Jaya assemblywoman Hannah Yeoh could not resist dropping by to buy some vegetables for her home as well.

The special sale raked in a RM6,637 collection – which would be split between the three partners for their respective community initiatives.
