Quick swing into KL delights David Beckham fans

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 Sept 2017:

Arriving here on the last leg of his Asian tour, English soccer star David Beckham was a huge hit among many KLites – who thronged Pavilion Mall and also the KLCC area today.

But despite the loud adoration, Beckham had a very serious message for Malaysians – the key reason why he was appointed ambassador for AIA Group Ltd last Friday.

“I am pleased to be part of the ‘What’s Your Why?’ campaign, which I hope will resonate with Malaysians looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle.”

Describing how he found this campaign relevant, Beckham said  why he chooses to keep an active lifestyle is for his family.

“We’d often go cycling together and when we go to Los Angeles, we’d hike at least twice a week for five miles or more – a decent distance I believe.

“I’m very fortunate in my life that my career has allowed me to maintain a good level of fitness. People have incredibly busy lives so hopefully there are simple ways that we can help families keep active and healthy.”

Beckham’s visit to KL also coincided with AIA Vitality’s first anniversary in Malaysia, said AIA Bhd cief executive officer Anusha Thavarajah.

“We are honoured to partner with him to inspire people across Asia Pacific, including here in Malaysia.”
