The Sunway Lost World of Tambun theme park will be temporarily closed for 14 days beginning today after a visitor was suspected to have tested positive for Covid-19.
According to a statement today, the management said the matter was disclosed by the Health Ministry (MoH) yesterday and active detection among close contacts of the individual was being carried out.
The statement said both the theme park and Sunway Lost World Hotel would be closed until Oct 26 to enable cleaning works around both premises to protect visitors and the public.
“We hope the people remain calm. We are committed to cooperating with the authorities and the Health Ministry to overcome the problem.”
In KUALA LUMPUR, several employees of the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council Zakat Collection Centre (PPZ-MAIWP) are confirmed positive Covid-19.
PPZ-MAIWP chief executive officer Ahmad Shukri Yusoff said all PPZ-MAIWP employees had been directed to undergo screening tests and placed under quarantine as preventive and control measures.
‘’PPZ-MAIWP is also working with MoH in an effort to check the spread of Covid-19 to ensure the health and safety of PPZ-MAIWP staff and the public are assured.
‘’The implementation of sanitation work on all PPZ-MAIWP premises is underway,’’ he said in a statement today, adding that PPZ-MAIWP is expected to become operational again on Oct 28.
Yesterday, Ahmad Shukri announced that Wisma PPZ, Taman Shamelin Perkasa; Putrajaya branch office and all counters in Kuala Lumpur and in Putrajaya would be closed from today (Oct 13) to Oct 27 for sanitation work at all PPZ-MAIWP premises.
Separately, a total of 19 personnel from the Cheras district police headquarters (IPD) have tested positive for Covid-19, said Kuala Lumpur Police chief Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin.
Without divulging further details, he said there were other members from the Cheras IPD who are still waiting for their results from the District Health Office.
“Despite the 19 (being tested positive for Covid-19), the operations of the station and the Cheras IPD will continue as usual and the standard operating procedure (SOP) set by the government will be adopted in an effort to curb the spread of Covid-19.”
