KUALA LUMPUR, 9 Sept 2017:
In conjunction with 2017 World Egg Day, a total of 388 egg sculptures have invaded Avenue K shopping mall to raise awareness on the benefits and values of eggs.
Measuring one foot to three feet, each of the 388 extraordinary sculptures were individually designed and painted by students from the Art and Design schools from various higher learning institutions.
Avenue K deputy general manager Phang Sze Sze said the egg installation is the first of a series of a three-week-long showcase from Sept 7 to Oct 1 to give a truly unique experience for its shoppers.
“The campaign, dubbed ‘388 Eggmonium’, is to encourage the public to recognise the healthy role eggs can play in human diets and how it can make a huge difference in the lives of people throughout the world.”
She said the shoppers are given the opportunity to bring one of the egg sculptures home through an adoption programme starting from RM30 up to RM388.
“All proceeds generated by the auction will be channelled to Charity Right Malaysia to aid their Feed to Educate programme which aims to reach those who suffer from hunger, provide them with nourishing meals and give them the chance to live normally.”
World Egg Day is celebrated on the second Friday in October each year.
