KitKat raising cash for charity via social media ‘likes’

PETALING JAYA, 30 March 2023:

Going beyond promoting its take on Hari Raya Puasa celebration with festival-themed editions, KitKat Malaysia is donating RM2 for every ‘like’ of its Rezeki Dikongsi Bersama (sharing of bounties) theme song and video on its YouTube channel, Facebook and Instagram.

This partially animated music video features local Malaysian celebrities MK K-Clique and Nabila Razali – portraying the spirit of diversity, togetherness and the joy of sharing.

Donations up to a total of RM100,000 will go to selected charity organisations, with KitKat Malaysia already having donated RM10,000 to Aeon Mesra – a community outreach initiative by the Malaysian Aeon Foundation – for underprivileged children to enjoy shopping sprees at Aeon supermarket outlets.

For the rest of children across Malaysia and for those young-at heart, KitKat’s Raya inspiration is the stamping of the ‘ketupat’ motif on the familiar chocolate fingers – a reminder of the staple rice dish fond at this festival.

The limited edition KitKat ‘ketupat’ motif comes in four collectible packaging with characters that are also featured in the animated music video.

Further, via a collaboration with contemporary fashion brand Mimpikita, there is a special edition pack that includes a Luminarc drinking glas together with two packs of KitKat Mini 9g sharebags.
