KUALA LUMPUR, 5 March 2018:
The Kelana Jaya Light Rail Transit Station (LRT) has resumed operation, opening as usual at 6am today after a temporary closure due to a portion of the roof being blown away by strong winds and heavy rain that hit Petaling Jaya on Saturday.
Prasarana Malaysia Bhd said in a statement said most of the roof repair work on the platform was completed around 6pm yesterday – despite being temporarily suspended due to heavy rain in Kelana Jaya in the evening.
“The remaining repair work will resume over the next few days after operational hours. Hence, commuters are required to comply with instructions and notices pasted on the station platform.”
In the Saturday afternoon incident, heavy rain and strong winds blew away part of the Kelana Jaya LRT station roof.
Hence, the management of the Kelana Jaya LRT Line had temporarily shut down the station to carry out cleaning and restoration works.
During the closure, free shuttle buses were provided to carry passengers from Taman Bahagia Station to Kelana Jaya Station and vice versa while operations at other stations on the Kelana Jaya LRT Line went on as normal.
