Free virtual doctor consultations at Caring pharmacies

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 Sept 2022:

If you want to avoid long queues at clinics or hospitals for minor ailments – like a bad cold or muscle aches – you now have a free alternative at 215 Caring Pharmacy stores nationwide, including the Georgetown Pharmacy and Wellings Pharmacy outlets.

This free service is available only within these stores via its CariDoctor platform officially launched today – where walk-in customers can get almost immediate attention from the pharmacist. After due registrations, this customer can then get virtual medical consultation – for selected minor illnesses – from a panel of doctors.

Should there be any prescriptions issued, the customer can then immediately obtain such medications from the pharmacy. (see video below)

Managing director Chong Yeow Siang explained this telemedicine service is designed to complement existing healthcare facilities and should there be any physical examination necessary, the customer would then be recommended to see a doctor in person.

Emphasising this telemedicine service cannot be used for emergency situations, he explained that there will be no extra charge on medications sold so “we are able to genuinely help people from various financial backgrounds”.

This latest CariDoctor service is the latest addition to other free healthcare related services already offered at the Caring Pharmacy chain – which include smoking cessation, health checks (blood pressure test, glucose test and cholesterol test) plus counselling for diabetes and asthma.
