Desaru to be must-go holiday destination in 2018

JOHOR BAHRU, 25 Nov 2017:

This weekend marks the start of the long year-end holidays for public schools and, feeling a little limited by seemingly the same choices locally, some are already looking forward to where next can be a new destination next year-end.

Probably top on the list of must-visit local holiday destinations next year is a familiar name – Desaru in Johor – which is set to unveil several years of revitalising development by Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels, which also developed Legoland Malaysia and operates Kidzania.

The massive project – which aims to dispel the previous tired image of Desaru with spanking new holiday attractions – has already unveiled last year its first major lure with The Els Club Desaru Coast Ocean Course, followed by the Valley Course this year.

Called Desaru Coast – spanning over 3,900 acres along a pristine 17km beachfront facing the South China Sea – it will offer a holistic holiday destination with the Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark, globally renowned hotels and resorts and Desaru Coast Riverside indulgence zone.

The main lure is the Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark – one of the world’s biggest water parks set against the backdrop of a Malaysian fishing village. Visitors can plunge into the largest wave pool in Southeast Asia and experience the first water coaster in the region.

The Desaru Coast Riverside will be a stunning 23-acre waterfront landscaped retail and lifestyle village located in the heart of Desaru Coast that offers a wide range of upscale retail, restaurants, cafes and entertainment outlets.

And if you’re already looking ahead to make stay bookings, you have a choice of The Westin Desaru Coast Resort, the luxury family-oriented Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas, the iconic Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast and the exclusive 6-star luxury resort Aman Resort & Villas.
