KUALA LUMPUR, 15 Oct 2017:
In conjunction with Deepavali, Rapid KL is conducting exciting cultural events via the ‘Light The Way’ campaign at four of its stations.
Prasarana president and group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Azmi Abdul Aziz said the stations – KL Sentral, Hang Tuah, Sentul and Pasar Seni – had been selected to be the centres for the ‘Festival of Light’.
“Malaysia is a nation connected by our rich cultures and religious heritage, and our stations are hubs that connect the community across the city,” he said in a statement.
Besides cultural activities, a unique ‘kolam’ centrepiece designed by renowned Malaysian artist Ruby Subramaniam and decorated by 10 children from the Lighthouse Children’s Welfare Home will be displayed at each of the four stations.
The campaign kicked off at KL Sentral yesterday, and commuters can participate in the ongoing celebrations at three other stations – Hang Tuah (today); Sentul (Oct 17) and Pasar Seni MRT station (Oct 18) – all starting at 11am.
