Celebrate your birthday free with pandas at Zoo Negara

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 Aug 2017:

Members of the public whose birthday fall on Wednesday Aug 23 are invited to  the National Zoo on that day – to celebrate the occasion with the giant panda couple and their cub Nuan Nuan at the  Giant Panda Conservation Centre (GPCC).

All they need to do is to show their MyKad at the payment counter in front of the National Zoo to obtain free entry ticket for that day.

National Zoo deputy president Rosly@Rahmat Ahmat said there would also be a ticket discount of 30% for other MYKad holders and 10% for foreigners on that day.

He said it would be the first joint birthday celebration for the panda family, who were all born in August.

The parent panda – Xing Xing and Liang Liang – will be celebrating their 11th birthday on Aug 23, Nuan Nuan turned two yesterday, he said when contacted.

He said the birthday celebration would also be the last for Nuan Nuan at the zoo as  the cub was scheduled to be sent back to China at the end of the year.

The zoo is now in the process of separating Nuan Nuan from her parents so that she would be able to adapt living on her own, he said.

Nuan Nuan was born on 18 Aug 2015 at GPCC, about 15 months after Xing Xing and Liang Liang arrived in Malaysia.
