SPAD stops school buses carrying tourists

PORT DICKSON, 25 March 2018:

The Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) yesterday intercepted two school buses carrying tourists without a permit in Operasi  Khas Serkap, following public complaints.

Senior general manager (enforcement) Datuk Che Hasni Che Ahmad said the culprits even had the buses repainted from yellow to a different colour.

He said two suspects – aged 51 and 35 – had been called to assist investigations under  Section 22 of the Land Public Transport Act 2010.

If found guilty, the duo could be fined not less than RM1,000 and up to RM500,000 or two years imprisonment, or both.

He added that one officer and six personnel from SPAD conducted the three-hour operation from 10am till 1pm.
