KUALA LUMPUR, 8 March 2023:
Malaysia’s latest passenger flight service MYAirline has inked a partnership with Zurich Malaysia to provide travel insurance covering all its existing and future routes.
The coverage – introduced last month as MY Travel Shield – has been renamed as MYAirline Travel Insurance and offered as an opt-in protection for flight inconveniences and mishaps. It covers delayed flights or cancelled trips; lost, damaged, or delayed luggage; emergency medical treatment during travel; and Covid19 benefits.
Purchase of this travel insurance has been embedded as part of the flight ticket purchase journey, explained MYAirline chief executive officer Rayner Teo.
“Passengers can opt to be protected starting from an additional RM25 for either one-way or return flights up to an insured sum of RM100,000 in case of accidental death or permanent disablement.”
He said the new carrier’s current route network comprises eight domestic destinations with 30 flights daily, flying approximately 5,000 daily passengers in the second month of operations.
