Latest MYEG award hints Covid-19 arrival quarantines likely well into 2022

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 Oct 2020:

MY EG Services Bhd (MYEG) received a letter of acceptance from the Ministry of Health yesterday for an online payment system project – which will enable travellers to register and make payment on arrival for Covid-19 screening tests and quarantine charges at all entry points.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the electronic government services provider said the project has a two-year tenure effective 1 Nov 2020.

“The system facilitates the implementation of government measures to control the outbreak by expediting the process of administering Covid-19 screening and designating quarantine locations for locals and foreign visitors arriving in Malaysia.

“The project is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets per share for the financial year ending 31 Dec 2020 onwards.”

MYEG added that the project has no fixed value as it is dependent on the number of transactions and the service options selected by users.
