JOHOR BAHRU, 31 Dec 2017:
South Korean low-cost carrier Jin Air Co Ltd will operate its first scheduled chartered flight between Johor Bahru and Seoul starting next month.
State Tourism, Trade and Consumer Committee chairman Datuk Tee Siew Kiong said the airline would operate the twice-weekly flights until March.
“The airline is also committed to have its scheduled direct flights four times a week beginning June,” he told reporters after the welcome ceremony of the Three Millionth Passenger for 2017 at the Senai International Airport (LTAS) here yesterday.
With the latest air service, Tee said LTAS would be able to be more competitive globally and would increase the number of South Korean tourists and foreign investors to the state.
Meanwhile, on the airport’s three millionth passenger, Tee said the achievement by LTAS proved Johor had been growing rapidly and on the right trajectory to become the new economic power.
“I am confident that more investors and tourists will come to Johor via the LTAS and making it an important aviation hub in the country, what with the state’s current outstanding performance.”
