Hotdogs recalled by Aussie supermarket chain

SYDNEY, 6 Dec 2017:

Australian supermarket chain Aldi has recalled a range of its hotdogs across the country over fears of bacterial contamination and bone fragments in the food, the major chain posted on its Facebook page today.

The major retail chain said the “Berg Smallgoods American Style Skinless Hot Dogs” in a 375g plastic pack – up to and including a 28 Jan 2018 use-by date – are being taken off the shelves and customers are advised to return the products for a full refund.

The product has been available for sale in Aldi stores throughout Australia.

“The recall is due to potential microbial contamination and the presence of bone fragments.”

Australian food authorities have also advised consumers to avoid the product and seek medical advice if they are worried about their health.

Hotdogs are a popular item on barbecues during the year-end Australian summer and festive season.
