KUALA LUMPUR, 16 April 2018:
Offices and clinics of professional practitioners have been exempted from requiring the business premises licence, effective April 6.
The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) said in a statement today the exemption is limited to business premises registered with professional bodies.
Any professional practitioner who paid the business premises licence before that date cannot reclaim the fee.
According to the statement, if there were advertisements of signboards at the premises, they should be licensed and the application made in accordance with the Advertisements (Federal Territory) By-Laws 1982.
The Professional Practitioner Premises (offices and clinics) have been licensed since October 2016 pursuant to the gazette on Licensing of Trades, Businesses and Industries (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) By-Laws 2016.
