KUALA LUMPUR, 22 July 2017:
The road along Persiaran KLCC (north-bound) will be closed permanently starting July 24 until Oct 11 this year for work upgrades.
Bachy Soletanche Group (BSG) Construction (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd said in a statement yesterday the traffic improvement works along Lorong Kuda, Persiaran KLCC and its intersection would be carried out in stages.
This will involve upgrading of the existing tunnels that run between Jalan Tun Razak and the KLCC underground car park, from July 2017 to February 2020.
The works will also make way for the construction involving the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station along Jalan Binjai and upgrading works of roads and pedestrian walkway.
“During the first phase starting July 24, the pedestrian walkway will be closed on the left lane from both sides both of Persiaran KLCC towards Jalan Binjai.”
These closures, for a stretch of 50m, will be between Binjai On The Park condominium and Persiaran KLCC – Lorong Kuda traffic light intersection.
Congestion is expected along Jalan Tun Razak (Seremban-bound) and KLCC underground car park during the construction period. Alternative routes will be available during the construction period.
Upon completion of the traffic improvement works in this area, motorists can travel between Jalan Tun Razak (Seremban-bound) and the KLCC underground car park entirely underground without having to come up to the Persiaran KLCC – Lorong Kuda traffic light intersection, according to the statement.
“Once the tunnels have been completed, the entrance and exit of the existing KLCC underground car park, located along Persiaran KLCC – Jalan Binjai, will no longer be available to public.
“However, both bounds of Lorong Kuda will allow motorists to enter and come up from the tunnel, both towards KLCC underground car park and towards Jalan Tun Razak (Seremban-bound).”
It added the pedestrian walkway and logistic road to KLCC park, would also be closed but a new pedestrian walkway provided for the public up till the Persiaran KLCC-Lorong Kuda intersection.
As for the MRT construction, the left-most lane of Persiaran KLCC (North-bound) will be closed for a stretch of 50m – starting from MRT work area next to Binjai on The Park until the Persiaran KLCC-Lorong Kuda intersection.
Motorists however can still have access to the road as two lanes will be made available for motorists.
