KUALA LUMPUR, 26 Jan 2018:
Take a step back in time and be immersed in the warm and welcoming ambience of an ancient Chinese Tea Village this Chinese New Year at Suria KLCC.
A sweeping two-storey traditional house surrounded by classic shops and beautiful hanging red lanterns as a nod to yesteryears is set to mesmerize shoppers and visitors alike.
This year’s décor marries both tradition and elegance, with colourful tea plantation displays and a 20-foot plum blossom wishing tree, dotted with 1000 hanging red and gold ribbons.
Observe the tallest Chinese lantern at the Esplanade KLCC. At 22m in height and 12m in width, this majestic structure has been certified by the Malaysia Book Of Records. Snap away with this eye-catching structure until Feb 22.
There will also be exciting performances including lion dances, Chinese acrobatic shows, Chinese musical performances and the god of prosperity walkabouts until Feb 18.
In addition, Suria KLCC has pledged its support towards spreading Chinese New Year happiness in the We Care Journey through the ‘Share the Care’ fundraising effort. This aim is to raise awareness among the public about Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and raise a minimum of RM10,000 till Feb 28.
Shoppers and visitors who donate RM10 for this cause will receive a red ribbon as an appreciation of their support. All the funds raised will be channelled to the We Care Journey for purchase of health equipment as well as to support We Care Journey’s development programmes for families and children with SMA.
This is an effort that continues from the Christmas period in December where RM14,000 was collected in the similar fund raising project.
Last but not least, until Feb 18, Suria KLCC shoppers will receive a Chinese tea pot set and red packets with a minimum spend of RM1,000 and above in a single receipt. Those who shop on weekends, meanwhile, have the chance to dine at Springs Garden Restaurant for 10 people with a minimum spend of RM3,500 in a single receipt.
